Antique Truck and Tractor Show at Owls Head Transportation Museum

Antique Truck and Tractor Show at Owls Head Transportation Museum

“It’s going to be a weekend of fun with tractor parades, Darling’s Ice Cream For a Cause truck on Saturday, and this is the largest, most family-friendly event. It’s for kids of all ages – who doesn’t love trucks?” said New England Auto Auction™Director Toby Stinson, adding that some specialty, newly-restored fire engines will be on display by Randy Smith Restoration.

And fire engine enthusiasts won’t want to miss OHTM’s 1926 American LaFrance Ladder Truck which was converted from a Model T. This absolutely original chemical truck was used by the Farmington Fire Department. Two 25-gallon chemical tanks are filled with water, into which 10 pounds of bicarbonate soda is dissolved. Sulfuric acid is placed in a glass receptacle near the top of the tank. The result is a chemical reaction that forces the water out of the hose!

On Sunday, author Chris Van Dusen will also be on hand for a book signing and meet-and-greet with his children's book Big Truck Little Island . On both days, attendees can enjoy vintage car rides, food and beverages from Station 118, or get some shade indoors as they explore OHTM’s collection of classic automobiles and vintage aircraft.

Want More?
With aircraft and auto demonstrations, a Kids STEM Activity Center, and vintage car rides, this event is fun for the whole family. You can even purchase a scenic 20-minute flight in a historic biplane! Weather permitting
