About Us
Welcome to our world of European antiques—an eclectic mix sourced with your good taste in mind. Ours is a uniquely European and United Kingdom-sourced antiques business with stock spanning the centuries. Browse our site to understand our perspective on antiques, ephemera, art, and home décor and then make plans to shop with us. We’re here to be your source for pieces that will become family heirlooms.
We shop all over Europe and bring our discoveries and finds to Maine, at prices that may just surprise you. Stop by often. Our selection of antiques is ever changing. We are also the sole US source for a fine line of fabrics by the British Olicana Textiles, based in Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. Olicana is carried by companies such as Liberty and Heal’s in London.
The Art of Antiquing is located in the center of Round Pond, in a restored old building. The shop—curated by Margaret Brown—is a European and United Kingdom-sourced antiques business featuring incredible finds spanning the centuries.
We live in London during the winter months and as soon as the weather turns, we make our way to our home in Maine. Our Round Pond antiques store is brimming with a broad array of pieces that can’t be found anywhere else.
We specialize in unique, sometimes dramatic, one-off pieces. As a result, things are always changing here, which makes each visit to our store a shopping experience unto itself—no two trips will ever be alike.
