PWA Paddle

Saturday 6/20, 10 AM -  Malaga Island, Sebasco Estates - Advisory: This trip involves ocean paddling. Directions: From Damariscotta take Route 1 South to Bath crossing the bridge and taking a left turn onto Route 209 toward Phippsburg. Continue on 209 for 10 miles to Route 217 taking a right. Follow 217 for 3 miles (one mile past the golf course) to Anna’s Waters Edge Restaurant at Sebasco Wharf, 76 Black’s Landing Road, Sebasco Estates, where we will put-in. Paddle duration with tour 3 hours; no rest rooms on the Island; optional lunch at Anna’s in lieu of a $10 launching fee per boat.

Saturday 6/20, 10AM - Clary Lake, Jefferson - Directions: From Newcastle take Route 215 North ( Route 215 takes a sharp right at its junction with 194). Continue on Route 215 to the junction of Routes 215 and 126. Turn right, then an immediate left. Our put in is at the public boat launch on your left. Paddle duration 2 hours; no public restroom.
 
The paddles are free and the public is welcome to accompany PWA on these trips. Unless noted, most paddles commence at 10 AM on Saturday and last approximately 2 to 3 hours. Additional paddles may be scheduled during the season. By popular demand, we are now offering many ocean paddles and lake/stream paddles on the same days for those who are not quite ready for ocean paddles or would prefer the alternative.  Paddlers must provide their own kayak or canoe, wear a personal flotation device (life jacket) and provide appropriate safety gear including water. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All paddlers participating in PWA trips are responsible for their own safety and each participant should determine in advance if conditions are suitable for their skill level. All paddlers must have a written release on file with PWA or complete one at the time of the paddle. The releases may be obtained at the PWA Paddlers web site or from the paddle leader. All paddles will be listed at the PWA website: www.pemaquidwatershed.org.
