49th Annual Fall Foliage Festival

Every Columbus Day Weekend for nearly half a century the Museum's Village Green has welcomed dozens of vendors of handmade items and fabulous food along with a wide variety of live entertainment. The sound of the train's steam whistle resonating throughout the crisp fall air reminds guests that this is not your typical craft show. The beautiful crafts are center stage on the Village Green surrounded by the historic buildings and structures of the Boothbay Railway Village. Rides on the narrow gauge steam train and the opportunity for guests to explore exhibits detailing Maine's railroad heritage, interpreting village life, and displaying more than 60 antique automobiles set this event apart. Artisan demonstrations, live music and a children's corner adds to the fun of this family tradition. Sign up now to enter the new Pumpkin Carving Contest with categories for kids, adults and professional artists. Timed contests will take place during the day on Sunday. It's just $5 to register per person and that includes admission and your 10 - 12 lb pumpkin to carve and keep. Some basic tools are provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own tools. Check back for the registration form. Open from 9 AM - 5 PM on Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM on Sunday. Admission is $4. Children 12 and under and Museum Members are free. Steam train tickets are an additional $5 each (free for Museum Members.) Parking is free both in the Museum?s main parking lots and the special event parking lot across Route 27 next to T & D Variety. The Fall Foliage Festival is presented in partnership with the Boothbay Information Center. Visit their website for visitor information about the Boothbay Region including places to stay, things to do and where to eat. While in the region be sure to check out the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta - which takes place on the same weekend just 15 minutes away! Vendor applications are currently being accepted for fine arts, crafts and handmade products, local foods and for regional non-profits to exhibit. Download an application packet or contact Margaret Hoffman at 207-633-4727 or via email for more information.
