Cultivating mindfulness helps us live with more intention\, clarity and compassion\, for ourselves and the people in our lives.\n\nThis course is designed to support anyone new to mindfulness and meditation and those returning to practice. The 4 weeks include:\n\n? Short talks on mindfulness and meditation\n\n? Guided meditations on body\, thoughts\, emotions\n\n? How to integrate a mindfulness practice into daily life\n\n? Discussion and self-reflections\n\n\n\nClass 1: What is Mindfulness and meditation?\n\nTalk:\n\n? What is Mindfulness? Being openly receptive to the present moment\; being more responsive\, less reactive.\n\n? The practice of meditation.\n\n? Developing a regular practice. Importance of being patient and kind to oneself. Meditation with object options: breath\, sounds\, bodily sensations\n\nClass 2: Mindfulness of Thoughts\n\nMeditation on thoughts\n\n\n\nTalk:\n\n? Exploring ways we experience thoughts.\n\n? How we can begin to shift the way we relate to them.\n\n? Levels of awareness of thoughts:\n\n? naming/noting\;\n\n\n\n6/9/26\n\n? arising/falling-away nature\n\n? not identifying with thoughts\n\n? becoming aware of awareness itself\n\n\n\nClass 3: Mindfulness of Emotions\n\n\n\nMeditation on emotions\n\n\n\nTalk:\n\n? "Unexpected visitors" of emotions can arise from many past\, current conditions. ? Feeling tones\; and stream of experience with emotions.\n\n? Noticing and naming emotions.\n\n? RAIN practice (Recognize\, Allow\, Investigate\, Nurture)\n\nClass 4: Bringing mindfulness into your life\n\nMeditation on mind-body and open awareness\n\nTalk:\n\n? Bringing mindfulness into your day.\n\n? Coming back to the Why.\n\n? Keeping a regular practice.\n\n? With time\, subtle yet real shifts.\n\n? Less ego\, more wonder.\n\n?
